Managing Partner, August Equity
David Lonsdale is Managing Partner at August Equity, a leading UK lower mid-market private equity fund. He joined August in 2008 and was appointed Managing Partner in 2023. David leads the firm’s overall investment strategy and strategic development, drawing on more than 25 years’ experience across private equity, corporate development, and M&A. Under his leadership the firm has grown assets under management to £1.2billion, driving portfolio growth both organically and through strategic buy-and-build.
Alongside his role as Managing Partner, David plays an active role in several of August’s portfolio companies, including Family First Nurseries and Polaris, and is closely involved with the August Foundation.
Before joining August, David held corporate finance and corporate development roles at Sky, ITV and KPMG Corporate Finance, where he spent four years in the private equity group in London.
He holds a BA (Hons) in Management from the University of Nottingham.
