About
A specialist turnaround and restructuring investor.
Rutland has operated as a private equity fund since 2000. Prior to that the team ran a public company whose investment focus was very similar to today's private equity fund. They typically invest £10-50 million in UK-focused companies with an enterprise value of £20-200 million. They are flexible enough not to be sector specific and consider all later stage transaction types including MBOs, MBIs, IBOs, P2Ps, turnarounds, secondary purchases and replacement capital.
Rutland Partners focuses on underperforming businesses where they can actively engage to improve performance, enable restructuring or assist with strategic change. They focus on specific business opportunities rather than any particular sector, although they normally avoid investments where success is likely to depend on external events rather than controllable actions.
