Strathclyde Pension Fund Office (SPFO) began in 1976 with assets valued at £126.7 million. By 2015 the value of the Fund had risen to over £15 billion, an average annual return of 11.6% since its inception. They invest globally across a range of asset classes, including equities, bonds, property and infrastructure. They typically have over 1,500 holdings, providing exposure to more than 40 developed and emerging economies around the globe. Glasgow City Council is the administering authority for the Strathclyde Pension Fund. The council delegates this responsibility to the Strathclyde Pension Fund Committee.
Strathclyde Pension Fund Office (SPFO) has over 200,000 members and £15 billion of investments. The Fund seeks to diversify its investments in order to benefit from a variety of return patterns whilst incurring an appropriate level of risk.
