Lucas Morais is Membership Manager at UK Private Capital, where he works with firms across private capital to help them maximise the value of their membership and network.

Originally from Brazil, he began his career in law before moving to the Institute of Risk Management and later a legal intelligence SaaS business.

Lucas is passionate about connecting people and fostering meaningful collaboration across the private capital ecosystem.

Poppy Bramford is Policy Manager at UK Private Capital, where she leads the association’s work on diversity and impact investing. She works closely with industry and government to drive more diverse workforces, more inclusive workplaces, and greater capital flows into impact investing. With eight years’ experience in policy and public affairs, she has led cross-economy campaigns in the UK and internationally—from lobbying on apprenticeship reform for regional SMEs, to representing UK employers during tripartite negotiations on labour standards at the International Labour Conference in Geneva.

At the CBI, she worked closely with FTSE 100 companies and government to deliver a national childcare campaign that achieved the largest expansion of free childcare provision since its inception, contributing to increased female labour market participation.

Roger joined ICG in 2021 as the Group Head of Internal Audit and is responsible for the delivery of Internal Audit assurance at ICG globally. He is currently serving as the co-chair of ‘Together,’ ICG’s diversity network representing the LGBTQ+ community.

Previously Roger spent five years at Goldman Sachs as the Head of Audit for Asset Management EMEA within the Global Audit Department for GS. He also had additional responsibilities for reporting to the Boards of the UK-based GS asset management entity and the fund management company in Dublin.

Roger started his financial services career in the Internal Audit department of Credit Suisse in London. While based in London he audited a wide range of banking businesses across Europe including equity sales and trading, research, and investment banking advisory businesses.

In the early 2010s Roger moved to New York with Credit Suisse where his focus was on private wealth businesses in the Americas, Regulatory Capital Calculation compliance and various US-based asset management businesses.

Roger qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Johannesburg, South Africa and holds a BCom from the University of Kwazulu-Natal and has recently completed an MSc in Finance, Leadership and Management from the University of York.

Valerie Monk is a Partner in Governance and Risk at Montagu FPP, working with portfolio companies to progress their compliance and ESG programs. She has a background in risk, compliance, service management and IT across large organisations such as GSK and Masterfoods. She is married to Alison and has two adopted children (teenagers now). She is on the board of Transparency International UK, an anti-corruption charity, and is a Church Warden in her local inclusive CofE church. Val is a middle child and therefore became passionate about fairness, equality of opportunity and meritocracy early in life!
