The UK VC ESG Reporting template is a voluntary ESG reporting template that was developed in collaboration by UK Private Capital, the British Business Bank (BBB) and Reframe Venture following an engagement process with a working group of UK-based asset managers and asset owners.
It aims to harmonise engagements between GPs and UK institutional LPs with VC investments enabling the provision of decision useful data whilst reducing the administrative burden on funds and portfolio companies.
The template aligns with other international standards and is designed to address the needs of VC and growth companies and their fund managers in a proportional way enabling more harmonised data collection in the UK VC ecosystem.
While this template is non-binding, the involved asset owners and asset managers (as listed below) agree on:

and/or for those making UK venture capital investments

Accepting this template (and aligned reporting templates, incl. Invest Europe’s ESG Reporting Template) where possible, subject to asset owner, regulator, and other requirements.

About the template
The UK VC ESG Reporting template draws on the same proportionality levels as the Invest Europe’s ESG Reporting Template.
- For portfolio companies with <25 FTE, the 'Minimum PC' template is expected.
- For portfolio companies with 25-250 FTE, the 'Intermediate PC' template is expected.
- For portfolio companies with >250 FTE, the 'Full PC' template is expected.
The metrics for the template have principally been derived from the Invest Europe ESG Reporting Template and are fully aligned with the Invest Europe’s ESG Reporting Template.
For firms that have completed the Invest Europe ESG Reporting Template, it will be valid for the UK VC ESG Reporting template.
For firms that have completed the UK VC ESG Reporting template, there are a small number of additional metrics required to fully complete the Invest Europe ESG Reporting Template.
