Akshat Rathi is a London-based senior reporter for Bloomberg News. His first book Climate Capitalism has been named one of the best books of the year by The Times and The Economic Times. It’s the subject of his 2024 TED talk. He has also edited a book of essays from young climate leaders.

Alex Bexon is VCP Director in the Value Creation Partners team at LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group. He works across LDC’s national portfolio, supporting the firm’s ongoing ESG programme, which is embedded throughout the lifecycle of its partnerships, from the initial investment through to exit. Specifically, he focuses on using ESG as a value creation lever to help portfolio companies to grow sustainably during their partnership with LDC, no matter their starting point.

Alex Shadbolt is an Investment Manager and leads Future Planet Capital’s impact efforts. With a background in research, most recently with the University of Cambridge’s Keynes Fund, exploring instances of market failure, mispricing and incentive systems within VC, Alex is driving Future Planet Capital’s formalisation of impact for investment decisions, internal operations and portfolio management. In 2025, this work was recognised by the BVCA and FPC were presented with the 'Excellence in Impact’ Award.
Previously, Alex spent time at the Open Data Institute, creating and embedding the groups Impact Framework, successfully bidding for key government contracts and co-authoring the company’s five-year strategy.
He looks to bring this deep impact knowledge to investments, on both the Blue Ocean Fund and Global Growth Fund, as part of the Origination Team, investing into the likes of REGENT, Pragmatic Semiconductors and XFuel. Additionally, Alex heads up ESG at Future Planet, as well as co-authoring Future Planet Capital’s impact reports and chairing the BVCA’s Green Finance Task Force. Alex holds a first-class degree from Exeter in Liberal Arts, majoring in Economics, as well as completing the Venture Capital Executive Programme at UC Berkeley.

Beverley Gower-Jones MBE is Founder and Managing Partner of Clean Growth Investment Management, a venture capital fund manager that invests in the UK's most promising early stage cleantech companies that have the potential to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. She is also CEO of Carbon Limiting Technologies (2006), a cleantech consultancy for corporates, financiers, government officials and SMEs. Prior she was she was a founder and Vice President, Shell Technology Ventures.
Beverley is a thought leader in early stage cleantech investments and commercialisation with over 40 years’ experience in the international energy sector. She specialises in accelerating innovation to market and scaling companies by providing strategic insights, developing industry partnerships and identifying novel ways to overcome barriers to entry. Her ambition is to create a better, sustainable world and she firmly believes that this will be achieved through climatetech innovation playing a transformative role in the global economy. In 2023, Beverley was awarded an OBE by His Majesty King Charles III for services to Net Zero innovation.
She is a NED and Chair of Investment Committee at Great British Energy and previously an independent member of the UK’s cross-government Net Zero Innovation Board chaired by the chief science advisor, Dame Angela McLean. Beverley is a Fellow of the Energy Institute. She holds a BSc in Mining Geology from University College Cardiff.

Bill Esterson MP was elected as Chair of the Committee in September 2024,. This role includes leading parliamentary scrutiny of the Government’s approach to net zero and energy security, championing policies that support lower bills, green jobs and the deployment of world leading clean technologies.

Caroline Truong joined Lightrock in 2022. Prior to Lightrock, Caroline worked at impact investment boutique iGravity, was a research associate at the Centre for Sustainable Finance & Private Wealth of the University of Zurich, and worked for a global accelerator supporting sustainable start-ups in the water space.

Prior to joining the firm, Eimear worked for 14 years in private equity-focused ESG roles, including most recently as Managing Director and Head of Responsible Investment at Intermediate Capital Group (ICG). Before that she worked at the Carlyle Group, where she implemented an enhanced ESG framework for Carlyle Europe Partners.

Elsa Palanza is Global Head of Sustainability at ICG, where she is responsible for the firm’s sustainability strategy across all asset classes. She oversees the integration of responsible investing practices into ICG’s investment approach and product development, the advancement of related policy and thought leadership for the firm, and leads client and stakeholder engagement on sustainability matters.
Elsa has nearly 25 years of experience working in sustainability and social impact. Prior to ICG, Elsa was Global Head of Sustainability & ESG at Barclays, where she led sustainability strategy, policy, and engagement.

Graeme Ardus was the Global Director of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (OHSE) and Sustainability at Amcor Speciality Packaging. Hannah Gilbert is responsible for developing the Bank’s approach to sustainable finance, with a particular focus on equity investment.
Hannah’s works at the nexus of technology, innovation and impact. Starting her career in commercial roles in telecoms and technology, she has pursued a range of innovation, operational and strategy roles for organisations including ‘3’, HM Treasury, ShareAction and Phoenix Group as well as advising sustainability-focused start-ups.
Hannah has a MSc Economics, a Masters in Sustainable Tourism (Distinction) and an Executive MBA (Distinction) and CFA certificate Climate and Investing. She is passionate about governance and decision-making along the finance value chain to deliver better outcomes for all. Hannah is also an angel investor and qualified yoga teacher.

Hannah Leach brings over a decade of experience in the tech ecosystem, playing key roles in launching and scaling startups, developing products, and advising on fundraising strategy. Harriet Assem is UK Private Capital’s Head of Sustainability. Her role is focussed in supporting industry/market practice and delivering on strategic projects/initiatives with policy related work on new international sustainability standards (and other emerging initiatives).
Prior to joining UK Private Capital she spent a number of years in environmental consultancy.
Her most recent role included leading a team which provided ESG related strategy services to cross sector clients including private equity. She also played a lead role in developing and publishing the ESG Transparency A Private Equity and Venture Capital Index.
Previous to that, her career started in environmental due diligence where she worked on several high-profile merger and acquisition deals, providing environmental due diligence advice.

Jeremy Brown is an Investment Principal at Anthemis and leads on the firm's climate and energy initiatives, focused on early investments across Europe. He is a former geophysicist and has been a venture investor in Silicon Valley, Berlin, and London. He has a background in deep technology investments spanning construction/built environment, energy, manufacturing, and climate.

Jonathan Pollock is the Chief Executive and Managing Partner at Elbow Beach, an early-stage investor focused on climate technologies that improve industrial productivity, efficiency, and outcomes at scale. Karim Palant is Director of External Affairs at UK Private Capital, where he leads the Public Affairs, Communications and Research functions.
Karim and his colleagues tell the story of private capital through high-impact engagement with policymakers, stakeholders and the media.
Karim also oversees UK Private Capital’s agenda-setting research programme, which includes the Performance Measurement Survey - the largest primary research survey of its kind in the UK, and the annual Report on Investment Activity.
He has two decades of experience in tech and economic policy. From 2015, he led public policy and economic impact work at major tech firms - at LinkedIn and previously Facebook. Earlier in his career, he served as Head of Policy to the Shadow Chancellor.

Laurie Cameron is Director of Sustainability within PAI Partners’ Portfolio Performance Team. He is responsible for value creation and risk mitigation activities across the portfolio through a sustainability lens, working closely with investment professionals and portfolio company leadership teams. His other responsibilities include oversight of PAI’s ESG performance ratings, the sustainability linked loan programme, and regulatory compliance processes.
Laurie has over a decade of experience in the deals and sustainability space. He joined PAI in 2022 from PwC, where he worked in the Sustainability practice focusing on ESG due diligence and climate risk management for financial institutions. Prior to this, he spent four years in PwC’s Transaction Services team, qualifying as an ACA Chartered Accountant and leading financial due diligence projects.

Prior to joining Bridges, Maggie worked at London-based Climate Change Capital, a specialist merchant bank in the environmental markets. She started her career as a strategy management consultant with McKinsey & Co in New York City. Maggie studied environmental science and public policy at Harvard University and has an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Marco Swan leads private capital engagement at the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), where he helps shape the global approach to align private equity with a net-zero economy. Working at the intersection of finance, policy, and climate science, he drives the adoption of science-based targets among investors, enabling them to accelerate decarbonization across their portfolio companies.
Previously, he led the Climate Ambition Accelerator at the UN Global Compact Network Netherlands, supporting hundreds of companies in setting science-based targets. Matthew Sumner is Sustainability & ESG Lead at Scottish Equity Partners (SEP), where he has spent the past six years embedding sustainability and responsible investment across the investment lifecycle. He works closely with investment teams, founders and boards to drive portfolio value creation, with a focus on governance, strategy and resilience across European B2B SaaS and technology-enabled businesses.

Meghan Stevenson-Krausz is the CEO of Diversity VC. She joined the Diversity VC team in 2022 leading the expansion into Latin America. Having started her career in non-profit, she made the move into VC in order to help democratise access to capital for those who had historically been overlooked, co-founding INCA Ventures, a VC fund based in Lima, Peru, investing in early stage startups in the Andean region.
Previously Meghan served on the Board of the Peru VC Association (PECAP), where she was the first woman (and youngest) to be President of the Board. Meghan attended the University of St Andrews in Scotland where she earned a MA (Honours) in International Relations, and holds an MSc in Human Rights from The London School of Economics and Political Science.

Michelle Lamprecht is Head of Corporate Affairs and manages CIC’s ESG and Impact strategy, marketing strategy, and is a communications advisor/mentor to CIC’s portfolio companies.
She brings 20 years of international leadership experience in strategic communications and business, spanning both publicly listed and privately owned organisations.
Michelle has held several governance and advisory roles, including serving as a board member for Byte Night (Action for Children) and as a trustee for Citizens Advice. Oliver Nixon is Research Lead at Reframe Venture, working with a global community of VCs and LPs on integrating responsible investment practices, including responsible AI. At Reframe Venture, Oliver has developed the ‘Reframe Venture AI Due Diligence Tool’, produced industry-leading research and insights on the topic in the white paper ‘Responsible AI: The VC Perspective’, and delivers regular training to VCs and LPs on what responsible AI integration means for private market investors.

Owen Lewis is Chief Financial Officer of CGD, where he has helped embed sustainability into the company’s strategy and operations from day one, aligning financial performance with long-term environmental and societal impact.
He brings extensive experience from senior finance roles across the semiconductor industry. Prior to joining CGD, Owen spent several years at Arm, where he held a range of leadership positions spanning financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, business partnering, and M&A.

Patricia Volhard is head of the firm’s European Funds Regulatory practice. She is based in the Paris and Frankfurt offices, and also spends substantial time in the London office.
She is a member of the firm’s Corporate Department, and Private Equity and Funds/Investment Management Groups. She is also a member of the firm’s core group of ESG partners. Her practice focuses on advising private funds and fund managers on structuring and setting up funds for a European investor base, as well as advising on European financial regulatory aspects for fund managers and corporates, including on SFDR, CSRD, CSDDD and other ESG-related regulation.
Ms.Volhard is one of Europe’s leading private funds regulatory lawyers and has played a prominent role in the ongoing development of the area. She is Chair of Invest Europe’s Financial Services/Regulatory Working Group, a member of its SFDR working group, and former Chair of its Tax, Legal & Regulatory Committee.
She is also a member of the Investment Management Consultative Working Group of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). In Germany, she is a member of the Board of the BVK, and heads its Legal Committee. In the UK, she is a member of the regulatory committee of the BVCA.

Rachael Reid is an Unreasonable Mentor. Rachael has participated in two programs, including Unreasonable Impact UK & Europe 2025, and has advised over 26 Unreasonable companies.
Rachael began her career as an Engineer working on major projects and technology initiatives in BP. She transitioned her career to strategy in 2020 where she co-developed BP’s energy transition and sustainability strategy and stood up the organisations to deliver.
She became a BP Ventures Investment Director in 2024 where she was responsible for sourcing and managing innovative investment opportunities. She joined British Business Bank in 2025 where she is responsible for cleantech investment.

Ravi Bhatt has spent much of his career within Financial Services, both in an advisory and investment context.
At Apis he is part of the investment team, and is also responsible for the social impact focus of Apis’ investment mandate, and ensuring that Apis portfolio companies adhere to solid ESG (environmental, social and governance) principles.
Prior to joining Apis, Ravi gained extensive advisory experience within Financial Services, having worked on a number of EMEA strategy and buy-side acquisition engagements at Anthemis Group and Nomura.

Sandy MacDonald is Executive Director, Head of Impact at Scottish National Investment Bank, tasked with ensuring they deliver the impact aspect of their missions as a development bank. He has a professional background working within and across sectors to drive positive social and environmental change. Before joining SNIB he was Director of Public Policy and Communications at Scottish Financial Enterprise, the membership body for the financial services industry in Scotland. Before that he was at Standard Life, and Standard Life Aberdeen, including eight years as Global Head of Sustainability, with responsibility for sustainability strategy, ESG reporting, and social, environmental and community impact.
Sandy’s active interest in the environment and tackling inequalities is also reflected in his voluntary and non-Executive career. He is currently a trustee of Turn2Us, the UK financial inclusion charity, and independent Chair of the Nominations Committee for the National Trust for Scotland.

Sarah has over a decade of experience making policy in the centre of government, mainly at HM Treasury. She has led on policy areas across tax, spending and financial services, including pensions tax, venture capital and insurance markets. With Isobel, she has been deputy director for business tax strategy at HM Treasury, and deputy director for open justice and dispute resolution at the Ministry of Justice.
Sarah lives in London with her family. She studied economics at the University of Cambridge and worked on global health economics before joining the civil service.
Responsible Investment Integration Director, Church Commissioners
Sofia Bartholdy is the strategic lead for the Commissioners’ approach to climate change and RI integration, including impact/solutions. Her responsibilities include implementing a strategy to meet the Commissioners’ Net Zero by 2050 target and working with the investment teams to monitor external asset managers’ RI practices and sustainability outcomes of the underlying portfolio across ESG themes and asset classes. In addition, she is on the Board of Directors of the Transition Pathway Initiative.
She has held multiple RI roles for Tesco Pension Investment, the Principles for Responsible Investment and in consulting. She holds an MSc in Applied Economics and Finance from Copenhagen Business School and an MSc in Ecological Economics from Edinburgh University.
Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer, Capital Solutions, British International Investment
Stefanie Fairholme is Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer for Capital Solutions at British International Investment (BII), the UK’s development finance institution.
She oversees the strategy, portfolio construction and monitoring of all catalytic capital investment pools, with a mandate to deliver impact in nascent industries, pioneering business models and innovative financial structures that mobilise private finance into emerging and frontier economies.
