Resilience dividend – Looking past avoided losses

Time & date:

10 September 2026 | 08:30-09:30 (BST)

Synopsis:

Adaptation can deliver value long before 2050. Evidence is already emerging in the form of lower insurance premiums for flood-resilient assets, valuation uplifts of 5-20% for adapted assets, and stronger commercial performance when operations continue through climate-related disruptions. These advantages can translate into improved market share retention, enhanced growth prospects and stronger financial performance.

This session will move the adaptation conversation beyond avoided losses, exploring how resilience measures are already creating measurable business value through revenue growth, stronger EBITDA and enhanced asset value by 2030, using metrics businesses already track and understand.

Limited to a small group of participants, this highly interactive discussion is designed to encourage the open exchange of views, experiences and practical approaches among industry peers.

Discussion points:
  • How can investors and businesses quantify the financial value of climate adaptation today?
  • What evidence is emerging that resilience investments are driving revenue growth, EBITDA improvement and asset appreciation?
  • How are organisations incorporating adaptation considerations into value creation and portfolio management strategies?
  • How can businesses communicate the commercial case for adaptation using metrics already familiar to management teams, investors and stakeholders?
